Bored with your local playground? Try one in the next suburb or across town.
These playgrounds and parks are just some of the green and open spaces scattered around Waitakere City. Waitakere City Council is trying to link many of these areas with walkways, trails and plantings. These linkages will enable animals, birds and fish to extend their territories and give us extra play spaces. The aim is to create a
Green Network.
A Council priority is to create a "green ribbon" from the Waitakere Ranges to the Waitemata Harbour which will follow streams and provide plenty of parks and play areas, along the way.
