Litter is removed from main arterial routes and main town centres on a daily basis.

The frequency of litter collection depends on the volume of traffic on the street, ie the higher the traffic, the more frequent the litter collection.

All streets in the city have a litter collection at least once a month. However, a litter collection can be arranged at any time if there is a problem in a street.

Broken glass on private property

If the broken glass is on private property e.g. around a school bottle bank or in the RSA carpark, you will need to contact the owner of the property.

Horse manure

Horse manure on the street, berm, or footpath will be picked up by the litter contractor. Contact us to arrange clearing of manure.

Request for emergency cleaning of rubbish or litter on a street or berm

Contact us with the following information:

• Street address of where the litter is
• Where is the litter? (eg. Watertable, on berm, against fence etc.)
• What sort of rubbish is it? (eg. Household or general litter)
• Is the rubbish outside a single house or is the street in general covered in litter?
• The amount of litter
• Did this litter only occur only after the rubbish contractor had been in that day?
