Every food premises in Waitakere City should have a food grading certificate unless it possesses an Approved Food Safety Programme which makes it exempt. Food premises include dairies, petrol stations, supermarkets, takeaways and restaurants. Council's environmental compliance team is responsible for inspecting and registering the approximately 800 food premises within the City. Inspections are undertaken regularly at random according to risk. Premises are given one of four grades. Find out what the different grades mean.
