Community Arts
Waitakere City Council employees a full time Community Arts Co-ordinator
to develop and facilitate community arts projects in parks, town centres, and other parts of the city; liase with
the local and wider arts community; to provide information
on arts activity and contacts in the city; to develop arts networks and infrastructure in the city; and to produce a bimonthly newsletter, Artlink.
Community arts projects
Community arts projects focus on including the public in the creation of artwork for their local community. Examples of projects such as this include
the Titirangi Tiling
Project, the Kelston Gateways and the
Henderson Taniwha.

Community arts events
Each year the Council organises a number of Community Arts Events - these include Story Fest - a free family day of story-telling and performance, and the Pacifica Living Arts Festival.

Artlink
Artlink is Waitakere City's bi-monthly arts newsletter.
Artlink supports all arts activity both commercial and
community-based in Waitakere City. Artlink is currently
distributed to 900 individuals and all public facilities and
schools within the city.
