	Agrichemical Reduction Policy (Size 330K) The Agrichemical Reduction Policy sets the direction for Council to manage land in a sustainable manner to reduce the requirement to use agrichemicals, and to choose least toxic alternatives.
	Animal Pest Control (Size 330K) This five year work programme is designed to implement the objectives and targets in the Waitakere Animal Pest Strategy.
	Animal Pest Strategy (Size 364K) This document outlines the Council's strategic approach to the management of animal pests.
	Annual Plan An Annual Plan sets out the services and activities the Council will deliver in the coming financial year, what it will cost and how it will be paid for.
	Annual Reports An Annual Report documents the financial (and work programme) results for the year and comments on the outlook for the future.
	Arts & Cultural Policy Statement Waitakere City wrote its first arts policy in 1991 and this policy is being revisited and revised over the 2001/2002 year.
	Biodiversity Strategy To achieve good biodiversity outcomes the help of the community is also needed.
	Business Improvements Districts Policy (Size 23K) This document outlines the process by which the business association in a town centre may choose to work in partnership with Council in order to enhance and improve the business activity in that town centre.
	City Wide Alcohol Strategy (Size 92K) Minimising alcohol-related harm and promoting safe alcohol environments in Waitakere City.
	Code of Conduct (Size 123K) This document provides guidance on the standards of behaviour that are expected from elected members.  It is a statutory requirement.
	Commercial Sex Strategy of Waitakere City  (Size 307K) The Commercial Sex Policy applies to the commercial sex industry in the City.
	Community Assistance Policy The aim of the Community Assistance Policy is to help local community groups to operate effectively and provide services to meet local needs.
	Community Boards Code of Conduct (Size 117K) This code of conduct provides guidance on the standards of behaviour that are expected from elected members.
	Community Bus Hireage Policy (Size 39K) Policy on hiring the Council's Community Bus for external use.
	Community Facilities Plan (Size 111K) This plan sets out how, over the next ten years, the Council will help to provide buildings for the community to use.
	Community Interaction Policy (Size 49K) This policy sets out the principles of interaction and the approach for community involvement in decision making.
	Community Safety In Waitakere City (Size 247K) The Good Practice Guide for Council Staff provides a structure for prioritising community safety in all council activities. The Guide has been produced in consultation with staff and with other professionals with an interest in community safety both nationally and internationally.
	Comprehensive Urban Stormwater Strategy and Action Plan or CUSSAP In 1999, Waitakere City Council and EcoWater Solutions obtained funding from the Sustainable Management Fund, a section of the Ministry for the Environment. This money has been used to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy and action plan for the long-term, sustainable management of stormwater within Waitakere City.
	Conditions of Contract for Consultancy Services (Size 300K) The latest version of the long form professional services contract for use by all Auckland Regional Councils commencing 1 July 2004 - Auckland Region Local Authorities Conditions of Contract for Consultancy Services. Council will be adopting these conditions of contract as the basis for our long form Professional Services contracts in August/September.
	Community Leases Policy (Size 92K) This policy tells interested groups all they need to know about leasing land or a building from Council.
	Crime Prevention Strategy (Size 76K) During 2003, the Council undertook a review of its crime prevention strategies and relationships.
	Cycling Strategy (Walking and Cycling Strategy) (Size 414K) The purpose of this strategy is to cover the development of cycle routes and footpaths and promote the health and fitness benefits of walking and cycling and reduce the negative impacts of motor vehicles by replacing as many car journeys as possible with journeys taken on foot or by bike.

	Delegations to Chief Executive and Statutory Appointments Register (Size 56K) Replaces Delegations to Officers Responsibilities.
	Development Contributions and Financial Contributions Development contributions are required at the time of new development.
	District Plan Contains all the rules, policies and maps for the operative plan and also includes related amendments

	Earthquake-Prone, Dangerous and Insanitary Buildings Policy 2006-2011(Size 943K) Set out the policy for Council's approach to dealing with earthquake-prone dangerous and Insanitary buildings, the allocation of priorities for dealing with those buildings and how Council will apply the policy to heritage buildings.
	Economic Development Strategy June 2004 (Size 256K) The general approach is to continue supporting growing local Waitakere economic development through a range of proactive approaches.
	Election Hoardings Policy (Size 41K) Waitakere City standards and guidelines in regard to election signs.
	Electoral Representation (Waitakere City Ward Boundary) Review
	First Call for Children This policy recognises that, with one third of the City's residents under the age of 20, special consideration is required to ensure their wellbeing and participation in civic life.
	Gambling Venue Policy Sets out rules around gambling venues and machines operating in Waitakere City.
	Green Network - Rates Relief Policy (Size 131K) The Waitakere City Council has adopted a rates relief policy to promote the protection and enhancement of natural heritage features within the City - the Green Network.   A conservation covenant will enable you to apply to the Council for rates relief.

	Heritage Strategy June 2004 (Size 521K) Councils approach to Heritage Issues under the RMA.
	Heritage Strategy Action Plan June 2004 (Size 394K) Council's approach to Heritage Issues under the RMA.
	Integrated Catchment Management Plans The diversion and discharge of stormwater and wastewater.
	Liability Management and Investment Policy June 2003 (Size 168K) An outline of approved policies and procedures in respect of all Treasury activities and management of other liabilities.
	Liquor Licensing Policy Liquor licensing matters are processed by the Waitakere District Licensing Agency which is based within Waitakere City Council.
	Local Governance Statement (Size 316K) Replaces the Official Information Directory.  It is a collection of information about the processes that Council uses to engage with the city's residents.  It outlines how Council makes decisions and shows how residents can influence those processes.
	Long Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP) This plan sets out a planning process for 10 years ahead to deliver clear goals that have been agreed between the Council and the Community.  It must be formally updated every three years.
	New Formal Council Relationships Policy December 2005 The policy sets out a process for the Council and external organisations to follow when considering whether to enter into a new formal relationship.
	Northern and Western Sectors Agreement (Size 1745K) This agreement sets out how the allocated growth capacities for these two sectors can be accommodated in appropriate locations, form, and sequencing over the next 20 years.

	Parks Five Year Work Programme July 2006 (Size 1350K) This document outlines the Council's five year work programme to help achieve the objectives and targets stated within the weed management strategy.
	Policy on Partnerships with the Private Sector June 2003 (Size 69K) In accordance with Section 107 of the Local Government Act 2002, Waitakere City Council has adopted this policy in relation to partnerships with the private sector.
	Rates Remission  and Postponement Policy 2006/2007 (Size 124K) Relates to the criteria regarding the remission of water charges and land charges.
	Rates Remission & Postponement on Maori Freehold Land Policy June 2003 (Size 32K) Maori freehold land is defined as land whose beneficial ownership has been determined by the Maori Land Court by freehold order.
	Regulatory Fees & Charges Schedule 2008/2009 The fees have been adopted for 2008/2009 and are applicable from 1 July 2006
	Reserve Management Plans Reserve Management Plans provides a framework for carrying out future management of reserves in an integrated way.
	Revenue and Financing Policy June 2004 (Size 475K) This document describes how the policy was developed and what sources are used to fund Council activities in accordance with new legislation.
	Roadside Work Programme (Size 335K) This document outlines the Council's five year work programme to restore the City's ecosystems
	Safety Strategy This document outlines the Council's commitment and contribution to community safety and safety monitoring processes.
	Safe Community Re-Designation (Size 1234K) Waitakere City - the first in New Zealand to be accredited as a World Health Organisation™s Safe Community, has had its accreditation renewed.  The application that was submitted in support of re-accreditation is attached.
	Sex - Commercial Sex Strategy of Waitakere City  (Size 307K) The Commercial Sex Policy applies to the commercial sex industry in the City.
	Significance Policy June 2003 (Size 70K) This policy sets out how Council will determine the significance of a decision.  It is linked to the LTCCP.
	Standing Orders 2004 (Size 281K) Sets out the conduct for meetings.
	Strategic Plan This plan sets out a strategy to take Waitakere City into the next ten years and beyond.
	Solid Waste Management Plan November 2005 The Plan is in 2 parts: Part 1:  Zeroing in on Waste is a summary document outlining the overall policy context. (Size 61K) Part 2:  Action Plan details the practical initiatives, projects and services that will be undertaken. 	Transport Strategy (2006 - 2016) The strategy is based on the Auckland Regional Land Transport Strategy 2005 and incorporates the Council™s transport policies, objectives and projects

	Water and Sanitary Services Assessment Waitakere City has 180,000 people, in a region of 1.2 million. All of them need water and wastewater facilities.  That is what WASSA - the Water and Sanitary Services Assessment, is about. It is a council/community review of how we provide these services and explores options for doing them more sustainably.
	Weed Management Strategy (Size 515K) The goal of this strategy is the protection of the quality, resilience, biodiversity and ecological integrity of Waitakere's natural habitat from the impacts of environmental weeds
