Waitakere Sister Cities

Waitakere City has four Sister City agreements with cities overseas; one in the USA, one in Japan, one in Ireland and one in China.

• Kakogawa, Japan (signed 4 May 1992)
• Ningbo, People's Republic of China (signed 2 December 1998)
• Galway City Council Galway, Ireland (signed July 2002)

• promote economic activity and trade between cities
• enhance international information and education flows
• build lasting friendships and relationships
