Damage

Any damage to the premises or equipment must be reported promptly to the Centre Hire Co-ordinator.

Hirers shall be responsible for any extra cleaning required, for all loss, damage and breakages to furniture, equipment and fittings.

The bond for casual use is $500 (Centre), $200 (Café 1), which will be returned in full, unless the facility has been damaged in any way or extra work/cleaning is required.

The amount of bond may be varied at the discretion of the Centre Co-ordinator.
Smoking
A no smoking ban applies to all areas of the centre at all hours unless specific permission is granted in writing by the Centre Co-ordinator or his/her representative. Designated areas will be established and attendance by a Safety Officer may be required. Council reserves the right to restrict or ban smoking in the Centre for specific functions.
Cleanliness of Premises

The premises are to be left in a clean and tidy condition.

When the kitchen is used, kitchen benches are to be washed down and kitchen refuse is to be placed in the containers provided.

Crockery and all appliances are to be left in a clean condition.
- Hirers must provide their own tea towels etc.

Rubbish bags must be provided by hirer.

All toilets must be left in a clean state.

All floors must be swept and rubbish removed from the premises.
- Cleaning equipment (2 Buckets, 2 mops, and 2 brooms) are provided by the
Centre. It is the responsibility of the hirer to provide cleaning product i.e. disinfectant.

Contract cleaners will, if necessary, complete any cleaning tasks over and above their contract duties.
This will be charged at an hourly rate. Please ask Recreation Officer responsible for bookings for further details.

All floor areas must be cleaned by a scrubbing machine after social functions or large exhibitions. This work will be carried out by Council's cleaning contractor and will be arranged prior to the event. The cleaners charges will be met by the hirer.

All electrical appliances and lights must be switched off and all outside doors and windows must be securely locked when the premises are vacated.
Fire Safety

Every hirer is required to be familiar with the procedure for evacuation of the building in case of fire, and must follow any instructions given by the fire brigade officers. In case of fire evacuate premises IMMEDIATELY. Notify Fire Brigade phone 111 (if dialled on Recreation Centre Office Phones Dial 1, 111).

The coin phone opposite the reception can be used, coins are not required for 111 calls. The attendance of safety officers is a requirement for any large exhibition or event involving 400 or more people. The hirer will be responsible for the charges made by the Auckland Safety Officers Guild and their attendance will be arranged by Recreation Centre Staff, in consultation with the hirer prior to event.

Event organisers are to ensure that they have a copy of the instructions to the Safety Officer and have read and understood such instructions.

Hirers will be held responsible and liable for any charge made by the Fire Brigade for a malicious fire call, and also liable for the cost of restoring the alarm circuit to the fire station.

Discos and Dances
The following additional conditions apply if the hall is hired for public discos or
dances:
- All discos/socials held in Council's halls must finish at
midnight.
- Behaviour must be closely supervised throughout the function both inside and outside the hall.

In the case of alcohol being sold or distributed by the hirers, a special licence is applied for, and organisers be reminded that they have right to refuse admission to any person.

Any breach of these conditions will result in termination of continued hire of the centre by the organisers.
Noise
The hirer shall be responsible to prevent any undue noise, both in the hall and in its grounds throughout the duration of hire. In the event of an offence being committed against either the Noise Control Act 1982 or any bylaw relating to the Control of Noise, the bond will be forfeited and retained by Council. Other
Conditions
Responsibility for Hirers' Property
The Council accepts no responsibility for the reception or safe custody of any property of the hirer and all insurance cover for such property is the responsibility of the hirer. Admission of Civic Authorities
Any authorised officer of Council shall have admission to the premises or part thereof, at all times. Disputes
In the event of any dispute or difference arising as to the interpretation of these conditions, or as to any matter or thing therein contained, or as to the meaning of any of these and conditions the decision of the Aquatic and Recreation Centre Manager thereon shall be final and conclusive. The hirer will be responsible for any fees which might be claimed by and held to be payable to the Australasian Performing Rights Association, or like association. Special
conditions
In addition to these Conditions of Hire special conditions may also apply to the individual hirer as discussed and arranged prior to the event. Such special conditions will be in writing and will be signed by the event or function organiser and attached to this document.
Contravention of Conditions
Contravention of any Conditions of Hire may result in the hirer being prohibited from further use of the facility and council reserves the right to order any function to cease forthwith upon notice of evidence of such contravention having been given during the period of hire.
