Classes offered
At West Wave we offer a variety of group exercise
classes, both on land and in the pools.
Most of these are
free to Swim and Gym members, Swim only members can attend
most Aqua classes free of charge. For non members, aqua
classes cost $8.80 and land classes $11.00 per session -
concession cards are available.
The programmes are suitable for all levels of fitness and
experience. Classes and instructors are subject to change
without notice.

Pool Classes
Active H20
Enjoyable low to moderate intensity. A step up from
Aqua Flex.

CRC (Cardiac Rehabilitation Club)
A gentle and safe
exercise class, ideal for older adults and for those with
cardiac concerns.

Hydrodynamic
No impact! This class helps to increase overall strength and
aerobic conditioning with the aid of a flotation device. A
class designed to improve fitness for all ages and levels of
ability. Also a higher energy class.

Hydrotherapy
A low impact class, which helps to increase mobility,
strength and flexibility. Specifically designed for
those who suffer from arthritis, joint and circulation
problems or have limited mobility. Held in the warm,
private hydrotherapy pool.

Trim down and tone up! Low impact but not low energy.

TYR Fitness Squad
The perfect way to start your day! TYR Fitness Squad
is ideal for those who want to improve their swimming
technique and get fit, in a fun and friendly environment.
Train for Harbour Swims, She Tri, 1/2 Ironman and Ironman competitions.
Tuesday 6 - 7am & 1 - 2pm
Thursday 6 - 7 am & 7.15 - 8.15 am

Land Classes
Active Teens Programme
A 5 week Fitness Centre Introductory course that is run on
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 4 - 4.45pm for 14 and 15
year olds who are wanting to join the gym.
10 sessions, 2 classes per week. Each session will have a
different focus, where the teens learn about exercising,
using weights and cardio machines, learning posture and
techniques, importance of stretching and nutrition advice.

Combat
Is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic programme is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, tai chi and Muay thai. Supported by driving music and powerful model instructors, you strike, punch, kick & kata your way through calories.
Boot Camp
A high intensity circuit workout. Working in your aerobic fitness as well as working on your muscles. A class where you will be worked hard by one of our toughest instructors, and where you will push yourself to achieve your goals. A great class to take a challenge with your friends to lose weight, get fit and have fun.

Body
Jam
Is the cardio workout where you are free to enjoy the sensation of dance. An addictive fusion of the latest dance moves and hottest new sound puts the emphasis as much on having fun as breaking a sweat. Funky instructors teach you to move with attitude through this class. So grab a friend, get front and centre and get high on the feeling of dance. You will burn calories, increase your fitness level and learn to dance!

Body Pump
Is the fastest way to shape up and lose body fat. It’s a toning and conditioning class with weights and is just about for anybody who wants to add strength training into their aerobic workout. The simplicity of the class makes BODY PUMP a great starting point to develop strength and confidence. Hot sounds and compelling chorography keep you going through each workout.
Monday night 5.30pm BODY PUMP has two instructors to help you with set up and technique to increase the effectiveness of BODY PUMP.

Body Step
Is the ultimate way to give your body a high energy cardio blast and tone hips and thighs. With over 2000 steps per session, you’ll see results in record time. So get in step and enjoy the ride to cardio fitness.
Body Step/Pump Combo
Is a mix of BODY PUMP AND STEP, a class which will blast and shape your muscles and give you a great high energy workout as well as helping you achieve great abs, butts and thighs.
Body Vive
Is the low impact group fitness workout that lets you choose just how hard you work. Using the Vive ball and tubes you're taken step by step through the class by a skilled instructor while listening to uplifting and inspiring music.

Fighting Fitness
A heart thumping boxing workout. This class consists of boxing combinations, body weight exercises and running drills. Paired with a partner
- take out your stress and fight your way to fitness.
Boxing gloves and focus mitts are a must for this class.
RPM

Take the ultimate ride with your motivating instructor who
leads the pack for a 50 minute interval training indoor
cycle. You are taken on a 20km ride through the hills, flats
and mountain peaks– all set to the addictive rhythm of
powerful music.

Yoga
A combination of stretches, joint movements, exercises, postures, controlled breathing and deep relaxation techniques all designed to make your muscles suppler and to improve physical, mental and emotional health.
