What's new

There are exciting new things happening at West Wave Fitness Centre!

Group Exercise is one of the fastest growing trends in the fitness industry and West wave are proud to announce that we are expanding our group exercise programme - significantly!

West Wave recently became licence holders for Les Mills Group Fitness Classes. Timetable and Class descriptions available on this site, or at West Wave Reception).

Classes offered

At West Wave we offer a variety of group exercise classes, both on land and in the pools.

Most of these are free to Swim and Gym members, Swim only members can attend most Aqua classes free of charge. For non members, aqua classes cost $8 and land classes $10 per session - concession cards are available.

The programmes are suitable for all levels of fitness and experience. Classes and instructors are subject to change without notice.

Cancellations this week:   

Classes are free* to Swim + Gym members!
Casual $10 per class.  Senior/Student $8 per class.  Multi visit cards are available.
Cardiac Club is $4 per class or $30 for 10 classes
Class spaces are strictly limited - first come, first served.

Classes

Splash & Shape
Trim down and tone up!  Low impact but not low energy.  Find out when the classes are on.

Hydrodynamic
No impact! This class helps to increase overall strength and aerobic conditioning with the aid of a floatation device. A class designed to improve fitness for all ages and levels of ability. Also a higher energy class.  Find out when the classes are on.

Active H20
Enjoyable low to moderate intensity.  A step up from Aqua Flex.   Find out when the classes are on.

CRC (Cardiac Rehabilitation Club)
CRC (Cardiac Rehabilitation Club).  A gentle and safe exercise class, ideal for older adults and for those with cardiac concerns.  Find out when the classes are on.

Hydrotherapy
A low impact class, which helps to increase mobility, strength and flexibility.  Specifically designed for those who suffer from arthritis, joint and circulation problems or have limited mobility.  Held in the warm, private hydrotherapy pool.  Find out when the classes are on.

Base Jam

Body Balance

A class that reinforces flexibility and strength , combining the best of Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates. Truly a fitness class for the 21st Century, BODY BALANCE brings mind and body into perfect harmony. Try this revolutionary, holistic approach to fitness.

Body Combat

Combines moves and stances developed from a range of self-defence disciplines such as karate, boxing, Tai Chi, and kickboxing. It is a fiercely energetic experience taught in a safe and simplistic manner. Designed to fight fat and kick calories, it is a great cardiovascular workout that's all out fun.

Boot Camp

Boot Camp is a high intensity circuit training class for those who want to GET FIT, LOSE WEIGHT & HAVE FUN!  Boot Camp is led by an ex-army physical training instructor who will motivate you to work hard, push yourself and achieve your goals! Find out when the classes are on.

Body Jam

Some of the world's top dance choreographers update BODYJAM every three months to guarantee a funky blend of cardiovascular fitness and urban culture. A great way to get the maximum fun out of your workout, as you move into shape to the sounds of modern dance music.  Find out when the classes are on.

Body Jam Base (beginners class for Body Jam)

Get started with a Body Jam Base class and learn the steps and moves you need to be a star on the dance floor.

Pump

A barbell based total body workout to help tone all of those problem areas.  Find out when the classes are on.

RPM

Take the ultimate ride! RPM incorporates cycling, choreography and motivational coaching techniques to give you a completely safe aerobic, adrenaline ride. Get in the zone and find out why RPM is totally addictive.  Find out when the classes are on.

Body Vive

This is the low-impact group fitness workout that lets you choose how hard you work. Using balls and resistance bands, this programme improves strength, endurance, rehabilitation and for active adults in their 40s, 50s and 60s. Listening to uplifting and inspiring music, you finish feeling rejuvenated and fizzing with energy. Find out when the classes are on.

Body Attack

This class is cardiovascular training programme which stands at the endurance end of the cardio respiratory training. PARDON! BODY ATTACK makes you sweat and puff; it improves your fitness and stamina. It's an awesome physical challenge. Find out when the classes are on.

TYR Fitness Squad
The perfect way to start your day!  TYR Fitness Squad is ideal for those who want to improve their swimming technique and get fit, in a fun and friendly environment.

Train for Harbour Swims, She Tri, 1/2 Ironman and Ironman competitions.
Tuesday 6 - 7am & 1 - 2pm
Thursday 6 - 7 am & 7.15 - 8.15 am

For West Wave members TYR Fitness Squad classes are $4, non-members $8 - concession cards available.

Yoga
A combination of stretches, joint movements, exercises, postures, controlled breathing and deep relaxation techniques all designed to make your muscles suppler and to improve physical, mental and emotional health.  Find out when the classes are on.
