Swim School
At West Wave, our aim is to be the best Swim
School in New Zealand; known for our high quality programme
and first class customer service.
We are a Quality Swim School in association
with Swimming New Zealand and NZSCAT (NZ Swim Teachers and
Coaches Association). This ensures staff training and SNZ
qualifications are a priority, ensuring your children are
receiving up to date content and teaching practices.
We are open seven days a week during the
school term which enables us to provide class times to suit
you. All levels are available with extra classes added every
term. A Water Safety component is included in our programme
to ensure all children get the chance to learn about Water
Safety including the use of a Life Jacket.

Baby, toddler and preschool programme
West Wave provides a holistic approach to this programme. We want to
encourage the physical and emotional development of our children, in a fun
and safe environment. Lessons are 30 min in duration taught in our dedicated
Learn to Swim pool heated at 32 degrees, and our Hydrotherapy pool heated at
34 degrees.

School age Learn to Swim programme
Small classes ensure every swimmer receives individual attention from our
team of highly skilled and experienced instructors using innovative,
stimulating and progressive programmes. Lessons are 30 min in duration and
taught in our dedicated Learn to Swim pool heated at 32 degrees.
Improver and Mini Squads
Our programme allows our swimmers to follow through with swimming right
through to squad level with the option of moving to competitive swimming
within a chosen Swim Club. Classes are 30, 45 and 60 min in duration
depending on ability. Classes are held in our 25m Competition Pool and are
focused on developing technically correct swimmers and increasing fitness.
Adult/Teenage Learn to Swim and Fitness
Our adult and teenage classes are held every night Monday to Friday, from
beginners to those wanting technique and fitness. All classes are 30 min in
duration.
Holiday Intensive Swimming Lessons
Every school holidays we conduct intensive swim programmes, Monday to
Friday, for pre-school and school age children. This is a fantastic way to
improve your child's swimming skills through having lessons each day.

Sauna, Spa, Steam Room
Relax in our sauna, spa or steam room - or try all three.
Let those aches and pains float away in the spa, with a view
of all the activities in the main pool or sweat it out in
the sauna or steam room. It's the perfect way to relax,
while the others play in the pool or work out upstairs in
the gym.
 Hydro
Slide
Come and ride our high speed hydro slide! Twisting
and turning until you splash down into the '"lazy river"
below. It's a long, dark and exciting ride for those who
dare.
The Hydro Slide is open after 3:30 - 8pm Monday to Friday
and after 10:30 - 8pm on weekends and school holidays. Ride as
many times as you like for $2 (age and height
restrictions apply).
Wave Pool
Forget the beach, at West Wave you can play in the surf
all year round. Bodysurf or ride the tubes on the 3 foot
waves in our leisure pool. The waves are turned on in
the leisure pool at random intervals after 3:30- 8pm Monday to Friday and after 10:30
- 8pm
on weekends and school holidays.
Inflatable Slide
Our 7m inflatable slide is set up in the dive pool on
weekends between 2 & 4 pm. This is a unique experience not
to be missed.
The Inflatable Slide is open from 2 - 4pm on weekends
(except during major events).
- Age restriction applies (8 years and older)
- Must be a confident swimmer
- Up to 10 people at a time (you must line up at the
bottom of the dive tower and a lifeguard will send you
up)
- No dive boards will be open to public
- Hydro slide will stay open when possible
- Check with Reception for details
Swim Shop
Conveniently located in the centre foyer our swim shop
stocks a range of quality aquatic accessories. Swimwear,
goggles and caps are all on hand.
