Bus Shelters

Bus shelters are provided from two sources:

Commercially owned

The Council has a contract with Adshel NZ Limited to provide bus shelters on high volume roads and in commercial centres at no cost to the Council. Adshel takes responsibility for all maintenance and repairs of these shelters. Additionally, the Council receives a portion of advertising revenue from these shelters.

Council owned

The Council constructs its own shelters on lower volume roads from a combination of Council funds and Transfund subsidy.
