Air Discharge Consents

As part of being an eco city, the Council, in conjunction with the Auckland Regional Council, is trying to manage and reduce air pollution. If you want to discharge anything into the air in Waitakere City you may need an Air Discharge Consent.

The Auckland Regional Council now processes all air discharge consents for Waitakere City.  Prior to 1 July 2002, Waitakere City Council did process some types of air discharge consents, but this responsibility has been returned to the Auckland Regional Council. Waitakere City Council now has no role in the processing and monitoring of air discharge consents.
