This
waterway was once a hive of activity. It was used to
ferry supplies and passengers and was a popular
place to swim and picnic. Few boats can navigate the
waterway now, but kayaking is still popular.
Signs indicate some of the many heritage sites along
the creek. Thomas Henderson's Timber Mill stimulated
commerce in the local settlement and later orchards
and vineyards developed alongside the creek.
Enjoy a drink or snack at the historic Falls Hotel
or meet friends at the band rotunda and take a
stroll downstream.
How to get there
You can start from behind the Falls Hotel (off Sel
Peacock Drive, Henderson), or from the North Western
Motorway Te Atatu off ramp or join the path beside
the Creek anywhere along Central Park Drive.
