An Internet Hotlist on Using a Mouse

To use a computer the first thing you need to do is learn how to use the mouse. The mouse helps you to move from one place on the screen to another.

Note: when you are finished doing one activity to return to the menu click on the BACK button. It is in the top left hand corner of the page next to a green circle with a white arrow inside.

  Read the first section of this page to find out what a mouse is.

How to use a mouse

• Introduction to the mouse
  This explains what a mouse is and gives very simple practise with moving the mouse. You need to click on the box in the left hand corner which says Absolute Beginner's Guide. Then you will need to wait for about 30 seconds and a new page will appear. Read and follow the instructions
   
• Mouse Practice
  This gives you simple practise of using the mouse to move numbers around.
   
• Practise Right and Left Clicking
  Ignore the pictures at the top and move down the page until you see the yellow box. Read the instructions and click on the yellow box to see the butterfly
   
• Practise Clicking and Dragging
  Make sentences or even a poem by using the mouse to order the words.
