Facilities Directory
 There are a large number of buildings in the City available for people in the community to hire. The aim of this Community Facilities Directory is to help individuals and community groups to find suitable spaces for community activities in Waitakere City.
What is this directory for?
The Directory will help to match people to spaces and will also advertise community facilities, create income for facility providers, and help to bring people together.
The Directory is targeted towards individuals and groups who run or undertake any form of community activity.
This Directory does not list every community facility in the City – only those on Council records who agreed to be listed. It came out of a Community Facilities Review, which
the Council began in 1999. The Council adopted a Community Facilities Plan in April 2000
which addresses the Council's role in providing general space for the community to use into the future. The Plan outlines what
the Council will do with its current facilities (community centres, houses and halls) to meet existing needs, as well as how it will ensure that future needs for general community facilities are met.
How to use this directory?
The information in this directory is organised by suburb, as outlined
below. The name of each venue is provided, along with its site address and a contact phone number. Please phone the contact number provided to enquire about the facility or to make a booking. For some venues the number of people it can hold is indicated, as well as particular facilities it offers. Please note that whilst we have endeavoured to reflect potential development and change, as with any directory of this nature, some information will have changed subsequent to publication.
