Information Management
Information Management is a division of Corporate and Civic
Services, and is responsible for the Council's Information Management.
Information Management's values statement is:
Professional - Positive - Proactive
"Helping to meet all Council's information management
requirements"
Information is a vital asset for the organisation as we head into the 21st century and it is the lifeblood of the Council. We want to ensure that the Council's information is managed as well as possible. Information should be accurate, readily available, up-to-date and secure.
More and more, the management of information is based on "information technology" (PCs, host computers, database software, networks, etc). We want to ensure that we get the best possible results from the use of information technology - reliable access to systems, cost-effective operation, good advice on technology.
Our staff have a range of IM skills including business analysis, corporate data, web content, records and archives, application software support, system development, computer and printing operations, network design and support, PC support and a specialised team supporting Council's Geographic Information System (GIS).
