Strategic Planning
From May to August 2005 the Council held 13 community
workshops to more fully involve the community in determining
its outcomes or
priorities.
Previous Strategic Planning
documents
During 2002 Council worked on its new 10-year strategic plan. As part of
the community consultation
process Council talked to members of Waitakere City about their vision, key issues and priorities for the next ten years.
Another important part of developing the City's 10 year
strategic plan involved looking at what has been achieved
already and future
trends.
This work evolved into the development of the Long Term Council Community Plan
(LTCCP). This plan is a new requirement under the Local Government Act 2002, passed by Parliament in December 2002. One part of
the LTCCP process is the need to identify desired Community Outcomes.
Given the work undertaken and the ongoing partnership and collaborative processes and relationships of the
Council adopted its first Long Term Council Community Plan in
June 2003. From this, with its communities, the Council will go on to build the next plan by 2006.
