Gambling Venue Policy

The Gambling Venue Policy sets out rules which limit the number of gambling venues and gambling machines (“Pokie Machines”) that can operate in Waitakere City. The policy also says whether new TABs can open in Waitakere.

The Policy controls how many gambling venues can operate in Waitakere and how many pokie machines may operate at these venues. The number of pokie outlets and gambling machines operating at these outlets have been capped at the current number.

Submissions on the draft policy were heard on 11 May 2004 at the Environmental Management Committee.  The Policy was adopted at the meeting following the hearing of submissions.
