New Formal Council Relationships Policy
Background
The New Formal Council Relationships Policy was adopted by the Council's
Finance & Operational Performance Committee
on the 12 December 2005. The policy sets out a six step process for the Council
and other parties (external organisations) to follow, when considering whether
to enter into a new formal relationship.
Policy, guideline and checklist
The Policy is accompanied by a six steps flowchart "Guideline for New Formal
Council Relationships" and a "Checklist for New Formal Council Relationships",
which provides detailed questions and issues to be addressed within each of the
six steps.
The Policy is not intended to be an obstacle to developing formal relationships,
but to help Council and other organisations to make informed decisions about the
need, nature and structure for those relationships.
