Draft Henderson Ward Local Reserves Management Plan
This draft reserve management plan has been prepared for the Henderson Ward
Local Reserves. This is a group plan that incorporates the sixty - six local
reserves in the Henderson Ward.
Background Information
Henderson is located between the Waitemata Harbour and the Waitakere Ranges.
The main centre of Henderson lies between the Oratia and Opanuku Streams. The
overall landscape context of Henderson, the Waitakere Ranges, the Waitemata
Harbour and the Henderson Creek are of great importance to the image of
Henderson, its sense of place, and the way in which urban form has developed
over time. The reserves in this Management Plan are considered urban with urban
issues to be managed. The reserves in this plan cover the suburbs of Western
Heights, Mclaren Park, Henderson, Lincoln, Te Atatu South and Te Atatu
Peninsula.
The draft Reserve Management Plan was developed following an initial round of
public submissions and comments.
Under the Reserves Act, 1977, you are invited to have your say on the draft
