Background

Many residents will remember that information brochures were prepared when the Proposed District Plan was publicly notified.  As a result of public submissions, there were many changes to the Proposed District Plan.

The District Plan has been further amended, following the resolution of most of the Environment Court references (appeals). The District Plan is now operative (as from 27 March 2003).  Please refer to the Operative versions, rather than earlier versions of the Proposed District Plan. All these changes mean that the original brochures are now out of date, and therefore have the potential to be misleading. Please ensure that you refer to brochures that are identified as "Operative Version 1".  This appears at the end of the brochure.

The information sheets are only a guide to the District Plan Rules.  The complete Rules are found in Volumes One and Two of the Rules Section of the District Plan.  You may also need to look at the Policy Section of the District Plan.  If you have any queries, or require further information, please contact us.
