Family friendly
The Council is "family friendly". It believes that support of staff with family responsibilities is an excellent management practice leading to productive staff who feel valued and are able to balance work, family responsibilities and outside interests.

Ongoing learning and career development
The Council is committed to the ongoing learning and
development of both its staff and the organisation as a
whole. Opportunities to develop specific knowledge and
skills are provided through both internal and external
learning events and conferences.

Wellbeing
Staff wellbeing is valued by Council. All staff may use the Employment Assistance Programme for personal and confidential support for work or family issues.

Staff values
Council staff are expected to value the community they participate in and serve. There are regular community events which staff can participate in on a voluntary basis such as Christmas gift making sessions for children, stream clean
ups and tree planting.
