Waitakere City Council's vision is to demonstrate ongoing commitment towards fostering a sustainable society, creating a city where everyone can access affordable, flexible, creative and inspirational learning and can participate in city life.

To ensure this vision becomes a reality Waitakere City Council has agreed to make available a two tiered scholarship aimed at enabling the youth in Waitakere to participate in tertiary education and consider a career within local government. The Scholarship Scheme will include:

  • A one year scholarship for engineering students entering the final year of their degree.
  • A school leaver scholarship focussed on supporting local Waitakere Secondary School Leavers to enter and complete tertiary education.

Both scholarship schemes will enable young people to have the option of vacation employment and will bond the student to future employment at Waitakere City Council.

More Information and your chance to apply can be found on the School Leaver Application Form and Graduate Application Form.
