Community Boards are responsible for local decision
making at the ward level, assessing and responding to local
needs, providing input to the Council's strategic plans and
annual budgets, and enhancing communication with community
associations and special interest groups. Information
about the Community Board subcommittees will be posted up
once these have been reconstituted following the
First Meetings of the
Boards.
Areas of concern include the development and maintenance of road works, water supply, sewerage, stormwater, drainage, parks recreational facilities, community activities, community advisory services, libraries, community centres, and traffic
management. There are four Community Boards, one each
for the four wards of Waitakere
City.
