Community Boards

Community Boards are responsible for local decision making at the ward level, assessing and responding to local needs, providing input to the Council's strategic plans and annual budgets, and enhancing communication with community associations and special interest groups.  Information about the Community Board subcommittees will be posted up once these have been reconstituted following the First Meetings of the Boards.

Areas of concern include the development and maintenance of road works, water supply, sewerage, stormwater, drainage, parks recreational facilities, community activities, community advisory services, libraries, community centres, and traffic management.  There are four Community Boards, one each for the four wards of Waitakere City.
