The proposed Waiatarua Local Area Plan represents
the outcome of a series of conversations, meetings
and workshops with members of the Waiatarua
community and research into the ideas and visions
for the future. The workshops and meetings held
between November 2008 and May 2009 provided a chance
for Council to listen to residents about the kind of
future they wanted for Waiatarua. The focus has been
on gathering ideas about the way the community looks
and feels now and in the future.
There are four key components to the Waiatarua Local
Area Plan:
- the boundary.
- the identification of features
important to and valued by the community.
- the descriptions of existing and
future character and amenity.
- objectives and actions to achieve the
desired future character and amenity.
