Greening the Screen
An environmental initiative with the Screen Production
Industry
Environmental Toolkit
Greening the Screen is a practical environmental toolkit
for the New Zealand screen production industry. It provides
tools for everyone working in the New Zealand screen
industry to contribute to 'greener' film and TV productions.
It is designed so that a production can take out of it what
is relevant and/or important to them, rather than being a
strict set of guidelines. It includes sections for in the
office, make-up, wardrobe, art, lighting, sound and camera,
post-production, on-location unit, vehicles, catering,
special effects, wrap, on-screen techniques and management
issues.
The toolkit was developed by Waitakere City Council,
Landcare Research, South Pacific Pictures, the Ministry for
the Environment and the Screen Development and Production
Association.
The toolkit is available on-line at
