Chapter 24:
Global action for women towards sustainable and equitable development (Size 8K)
Women will play an important part in the implementation of Agenda 21. To ensure that women are involved in this will require steps to raise women's awareness and participation and eliminate obstacles to women's full participation.
Chapter 25:
Children and youth in sustainable development (Size 10K)
Children and youth comprise nearly 30 percent of the world's population. They will inherit the future responsibility for the Earth, and thus should be involved in current environment and development issues and planning.
Chapter 26:
Recognising and strengthening the role of indigenous people and their communities (Size 8K)
Indigenous people have developed a holistic knowledge of their lands, natural resources and environment. National and international efforts to implement environmentally sound and sustainable development should recognise and strengthen the role of indigenous people and their communities.

Strengthening the role of non-governmental
organisations: partners for sustainable development (Size 8K)
The implementation of environmentally sound and sustainable development will require involvement from all sectors of society. Non-government organisations encompass all sectors of society as well as possessing well-established frameworks to review and implement environmentally sound and sustainable development.

Local authorities' initiatives in support of agenda 21 (Size 10K)
Local authorities play a vital role in bringing Agenda 21 to a local level by providing education, mobilising the public and in promoting sustainable development.
Chapter 29:
Strengthening the role of workers and their trade unions (Size 7K)
Efforts to implement sustainable development and Agenda 21 requires changes in the workplace. Both workers and their trade unions should be involved in this.

Strengthening the role of business and industry

Business and industry have an important role to play in the implementation of Agenda 21 in such areas as promoting cleaner production and promoting responsible
entrepreneurship.
