Waitakere City Council has undertaken extensive work in the Glen Eden town centre to enhance the amenity and attractiveness of the area. This work has included revitalisation of the Glenmall area, a new landscaped walkway between West Coast Road and Glenmall (Library Lane), and assistance with re-siting the Glen Eden Railway Station to the town centre.
At present there are a number of projects that are being implemented that will continue the enhancement of the town centre. These include:
Upgrading library services
Implementing a review of the provision of community facilities, such as the Citizens' Advice
Bureau
Re-siting and upgrading the public toilets
Sealing and re-configuring the parking at the new railway station, along with attractive landscaping and improved stormwater measures
Art design
