John Capener

As a 36 year resident of West Auckland I bring a lot of experience as to the needs of New Lynn’s infrastructure.  As a past President of the Lynndale Athletic Club, I have had to deal with all the problems of fundraising so I’m in a position to empathise with any sport or service clubs problems.  As an Independent candidate I will not be bound by anyone else’s agenda.

Wayne R Davis - Shadbolt Independents

Wayne R Davis I am a New Lynn resident, married to Isabella with 2 boys.   My mother was a Margan, and I live in Margan Ave, so I have close family ties to the area and the New Lynn Ward.   I served 6yrs as a Community Board Member of Waitakere City, have been a Keep Waitakere Beautiful Trustee for 3yrs, and served on the Hillary Commission Sports & Community Funding Allocation Committee for 4yrs. I am very concerned about graffiti and on-going crime in the New Lynn Ward.  Zero Tolerance is a MUST.  I will fight for better footpaths, parks for everyone to enjoy, improved pensioner housing, better roading and transport systems. I strongly believe in an open and accountable Council, with affordable rates for all. I served the City well in the past and will continue to work for YOU in the future. Your vote for me, is a vote for you.

Ray Kerneghan - Independent

Ray Kerneghan

Resident of Glen Eden for 33 years I want to continue to be involved in my community. I brought my children up here and I look forward to recreating a safe society for my grandchildren. I already represent you on the executive of The Glen Eden Community Protection Society, Glen Eden Community House and The Friends of Waikumete. I want to mend the fragmentation that has occurred in our communities since amalgamation into Waitakere. I want to see even footpaths, good lighting, modern housing for pensioners. In my third age, I have renewed energy to serve you in our community. As a Registered Electrical Inspector I have experience of working with people, explaining things, and understanding opposing points of view. My commitment to Glen Eden has led me to put myself forward for election. I share your desire to enhance the viability and health of our community. It's Our Future!

Rebecca Robertson - Local Focus

Rebecca Robertson

I am passionate about this city and issues regarding our youth, our elderly, the environment, public transport, safety, animal welfare and the future of Waitakere City.   I have lived in West Auckland for 30 years and have enjoyed being active in politics and the community with my family from a very young age. I am now 38 and live in Titirangi with my husband and daughter.   My previous experience includes working in large organisations in NZ and the USA and I enjoy working on fundraising and other projects at our local school.   In the past I have enjoyed working with the New Lynn Community Board as an advocate for the community on safer roading issues and would love to be part of the team and be more involved with the issues facing all of us right now.
